Arbitrage FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions about this ranking — covering data sources, methodology, fees, and how to use the metrics shown above.

What is crypto arbitrage?

Crypto arbitrage is the practice of buying a coin on one exchange where it trades cheaper and selling it on another where it trades higher, capturing the price difference (the spread) as profit. Because crypto markets are fragmented across hundreds of DEX and CEX venues, the same asset can briefly trade at different USD prices on different platforms.

How are spreads calculated on this page?

For each tracked coin, we look at active spot pairs quoted in USD or USD-pegged stablecoins (USDT, USDC, DAI, FDUSD, TUSD, BUSD) across exchanges with meaningful 24h volume. We then take the lowest USD price (BUY leg) and the highest USD price (SELL leg) on two different venues, and compute spread % as (sell − buy) / buy × 100.

Why don't I see microscopic spreads?

Spreads under 0.15% are filtered out because they almost never survive trading and withdrawal fees, network gas, slippage on real order books, and price drift between the two trades. We also filter out spreads above ~25% which usually indicate a stale quote or a thin, illiquid market.

Is arbitrage risk-free?

No. Real-world arbitrage carries execution risk: prices can move while you're trading, withdrawals between exchanges take time, gas and trading fees eat into the spread, and order books may not absorb your full size at the displayed price. Treat the spreads on this page as opportunities to investigate, not guaranteed profits.

How fresh are the prices?

Prices and volumes are pulled from live spot market pairs and refreshed every few minutes. The page also shows the exact UTC timestamp of the latest scan so you always know how stale the figures are.

Important: spreads ≠ guaranteed profit

The numbers shown are gross USD price differences. Real arbitrage profit depends on trading fees, withdrawal fees, gas costs, slippage on the actual order book depth, transfer time between venues and price drift while you execute. Always size against the displayed 24h leg volume, never assume the full quote is available, and treat this scanner as research — not financial advice.
