Who Are the Coinbase Exchange Founders? The project was established by former Airbnb engineer Brian Armstrong and former Goldman Sachs trader Fred Ehrsam in 2012

Brian Armstrong is CEO of the company. He graduated from Rice University, Texas with a bachelor's degree in economics & computer science, and later received a master's degree in computer science as well. Armstrong began his career as a developer at IBM, worked as a consultant for Deloitte, and then joined Airbnb as a software engineer. Co-founder of Coinbase Global, Fred Ehrsam attended Duke University in North Carolina and graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in economics. He left Coinbase in 2017, retaining his seat on the board of directors. In 2018, he co-founded cryptocurrency investment firm Paradigm.
