Long-term hold strategy. Originally a typo of 'hold'.
HODL became a meme after a now-legendary 2013 BitcoinTalk post titled 'I AM HODLING'. It refers to holding through volatility instead of trading every move. Backtests of pure BTC HODL have outperformed most active strategies — the catch is staying through 80% drawdowns.
