Total USD value of trades over a given period (usually 24h).

Volume is the lifeblood of any exchange ranking. Higher volume generally means tighter spreads, better fills, and more reliable price discovery. The standard window is rolling 24 hours.

Always cross-check volume against liquidity. High volume + low liquidity is the classic wash-trading footprint.
